Inspired by over four decades of musical creativity in a wide variety of musical genres, Walt Zweifel & Mikel Sirman have always been committed to combine the most diverse musical worlds. The church organ and synthesisers are Walt's instruments, choirs are his passion and composing is his obsession. This is Aeoline.

Mikel is the sound designer and specialist on the synthesizers. He is also responsible for mixing and mastering. He is also the man behind the visual realisation of Aeoline - Beyond Music.

AEOLINE is an open 8' labial register which became popular under this name around 1820. Since then it has represented the most delicate string part in many romantic organs.

In the infinite vastness of our world, surrounded by overwhelming nature, under a magnificent starry sky, the musical world of Aeoline is emerging.

You can be a world traveler even if you have not been to all continents or other countries, or even if you have only left home once.

Being a world traveler is a question of the attitude you cultivate both at home and abroad. Aeoline sends you traveling in your head. Other countries, other worlds...

The Swiss musician and composer Walt Zweifel is a pioneer in the field of electronic music in connection with church organs and church bells. As organist at San Lorenzo Cathedral in Lugano, Ticino he is best known for his electronic works "Via Crucis" and "Bells of Ticino", but word of his organ concerts in combination with synthesizers has also spread quickly.

Not a day goes by without Walt sitting at home at his own church organ, practising for the cathedral in Lugano or other masses in Ticino. It certainly helps that Walt lives and works in a former monastery in Caslano.

In the immediate vicinity of Lake Lugano, he can devote his life entirely to music and thus create the fantastic soundscapes of AEOLINE.

Sandra Merz began her vocal training at the Academy of Music in Belgrade under Professor Kmetic & Professor Irina Arsikin. After her diploma in opera singing, she studied contemporary music at the Conservatory of Ticino, Switzerland. There she took courses at the Masters of Arts in Music Performances under Luisa Castellani and in 2013 she received the diploma of Master of Arts in Interpretation and Pedagogy.

Thanks to her originality and vocal versatility, Sandra is able to interpret a wide repertoire ranging from opera and chamber music to contemporary music. But she also adapts traditional folk music (world music) perfectly. Thanks to this versatility, she has already been able to work on a wide variety of projects in different musical genres. She also teaches young students to inspire them for the world of singing and music.

Aeoline Mikel Sirman in Space - World Traveler

Mikel Sirman is a music producer and sound designer from Basel and Dubai. He began his collaboration with Walt Zweifel 35 years ago. In various studios in Europe and Canada, Walt and Mikel worked on different music projects. In addition to the organ concerts, he is also working with Walt on new works.

As an expert in synthesiser and sound programming, he supports Walt in the creation of new soundscapes and is also responsible for mixing and production. In addition to additional keyboards and percussion, he also monitors and mixes Aeoline's computer systems live.

Mikel Sirman is also responsible for Aeoline's graphics and videos. Over the years, he has also produced music videos for other bands and realised a number of projects as a graphic and film producer in the advertising industry.
